Running Track Night

Tuesday 13th Jan was our delayed Christmas party. We got the test track out and ran some trains meanwhile enjoying beer, rum balls, pasties, pate, amarettto balls, sausage rolls, samosas, whisky and ginger balls, tea and cheeses.

The test track uses DCC or DC. In the first shot the 3 locos on one track are not DCC but a competition to guess how many circuits it will take for the yellow shunter to catch up with the following loco and coach. The start / finish marker is of course the beer bottle.

Christmas Party and Test Track Evening

Friday 20 December was the date chosen for our annual Christmas Party and Test Track Evening, this year 0 gauge being supplemented by 16.5 mm gauge for OO and 0-16.5.

The newly-released Lionhearted 3MT performed well straight from the box and garnered a lot of interest.
American short lines have engaged several members interest.
Luke’s quickly-progressing ModelT Railcar had a good run out.
Paul S almost answered the call for a Christmas Jumper, sporting an apt T-shirt.

Not captured in the photos but we and a couple of guests had a very enjoyable evening aided by some fine, often home made, foods and drink.

Christmas Party / Running Track session

Here is a selection of what ran on the main test track. The MR 0-4-4 T has been seen before but now had a chance at an extensive run which it did really well. Also stretching its legs was the streamlined railcar, a relatively new purchase.

Below we see American stock from MikeE and a Heljan Mogul that has been in a box for quite a long time.

The evening ended with our traditional imbibing of cold tea.
